I think that this was addressed in yesterday’s press conference. Have you watched it? |
They’re in phase 2. |
Daycares will open in phase 2 but I have not heard any officials willing to predict when we would reach phase 2. |
Nope, I didn’t watch it. Was just reading summaries. After you said this, I tried looking it up but I didn’t see any mention of daycares opening in stage 2. |
There will be rioting in the streets if they open sooner than September |
It’s in the plan. Has no one read it? |
????? |
!!!!!! |
Hogan is smart and has an Asian wife. I predict August at the earliest |
Given that most people here are probably struggling with teleworking and childcare already, no, who has time to read a 30 page plan. I skimmed it- childcare centers are in the medium risk category for reopening. Not a lot of details, we will have to wait and see. https://governor.maryland.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/MD_Strong.pdf |
Phase 1 may start as early as next week. Then Phase 2 COULD begin two weeks later (so around June 1). But that would require a lot of thing to go right, so July 1 seems more realistic but still optimistic. |
September? Ill be totally losing my sh@&$ If they aren’t open by then.
Or unemployed standing socially distanced on the 2020 equivalent of the bread line... |
Our daycare sent a letter to parents expressing frustration about the lack of guidance from the state. So I do t think the “plan” was specific enough for their planning purposes. Pretty sure there are some significant financial concerns. They asked us to contact our lawmakers to articulate the importance of childcare to reopen the state. |
Sometime this summer. They are phase 2. |
Ours is an EPCC. They said they haven’t received payment from the state for April and are concerned about making payroll. I tweeted at Hogan’s communications director, who is normally responsive. No response. I’m calling Annapolis on Monday. It’s unconscionable because the EPCCs can’t charge essential workers and have to pay for their own sanitization, so it’s very expensive childcare to provide. |
