We have some cheerleaders here. FC Dallas is just outside the beltway too. This is great news for Northern VA.

But tophat!

Tophat is #1. And closer. And in the GA.

One team will not save GA unfortunately. And Top Hat will lose players...

Sure they will, champ. Will those players be excepted, though?

There are two Concord Fire ECNL teams just miles from Tophat. And GSA and GFA who are also ECNL just north of the city. Top hats players in their DA program will disperse to these various clubs and the club will become weaker. It won’t take years to happen either. Like or hate ECNL, they have placed clubs around DA clubs and only accepted the clubs who fit gaps for them - like FC Dallas or Pipeline or Penn Fusion.

Nah, it's politics. There are many ECNL teams already in Dallas, and Penn Fusion literally shares fields with FC Delco.

Of course there is politics. But also strategy. It does not change that Top Hat will suffer, as will others near ECNL clubs over time. No value in arguing politics etc. The reality is another top club was pulled over by ECNL.

Will ECNL add more clubs?

Top hat can get ECNL if they want it.
