They’re not supposed to be treated as optional. Technically everything is optional since no grades are being taken, but teachers do have to track participation to determine if certain students aren’t logging on at all so the school can reach out to them.

It's a Pass/Missing Grade system.

So, as long as your kid is doing the work, your kid will 'Pass'. If your kid does NOTHING - no Zoom, no online assignments, no discussion - then the kid will get a Missing Grade.

Our Principal said either way, no kid will be held back.
