| since Rec soccer is local, it makes sense for that to start up before travel. |
Seriously? Here’s a fun fact about a 5yo in Detroit. Oh wait, that’s flyover country, and doesn’t count. https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/21/us/detroit-girl-dies-coronavirus/index.html |
Again, compared to how many deaths for flu among the same age groups every year? |
Pretty sure this 5 year old who died was under 20. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/04/24/coronavirus-detroit-girl-dies-covid-19-we-need-hear-these-stories-psychic-numbing/2997739001/ |
Every child'd death is sad, but according to the CDC, during the 2018–2019 flu season, 136 deaths in children with laboratory–confirmed influenza virus infection were reported in the United States https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2018-2019.html That is a low estimate as influenza-associated pediatric deaths are likely under-reported as not all children whose death was related to an influenza virus infection may have been tested for influenza. 1 vs. 136. |

First step is to restart Practices with Distancing guidelines. Netherlands is allowing Practices to restart with Schools in May. I can see Practices restarting in July. That gets a foot in the door.
Games are a trickier question. I have read a few reports that outdoor spread is relatively rare for COVID-19. Hope that helps. |
She developed meningitis. Do you know how deadly that is? Then because she texted positive with covid that’s what they are putting down as her death. “Complications from Covid” Skylar's oxygen levels were fine, and she didn't display any signs of respiratory distress, but she was diagnosed with a rare form of meningitis due to complications from COVID-19, the disease associated with the coronavirus |
I wouldn’t be surprised if ECNL went full year next Fall. Playing games spread out instead all together possible starting in Late September instead of August. That’s just my theory however. |
Through April 2, the CDC has reported 3 children deaths. |

Yes my wife just showed me. I want to know how and if it’s related or they are just calling it Covid “complications”. |
Guess if we all start having our kids ingest bleach and disinfectant they'll be playing soccer by next week.
Soccer won't start for a while. Fall if we're lucky, but more likely spring. Initial curve flattening is irrelevant. Once people head back it will rise up again and people and politicians will react and shut it down again. Way too many lawyers in this country to allow anything more risky. Strap yourself in for the long haul. |
