Dr. Deena Kleinerman (OB/GYN) - Thoughts on her???

FWIW, her partner, Dr. Gschwend, is absolutely amazing. He literally saved my life and my baby's life! He is definitely the kind of Dr. you want around if things get a little scary.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kleinerman since 2000. She delivered both my kids (2001 & 2003). She is easy to talk to, patient and really cool. My doctor before her said something really rude to me and she spoke to him about it. When my husband died in 2004 and I had no insurance she still saw me and told me not to worry. Her office is a little far for me now but until she retire I will continue to go to her. She listen to my needs and give me great feed back on any health issue not just her medical background.

Dr. Kleinerman has excellent bedside manner. A colleague highly recommended her. I began seeing her after I had my son to discuss birth control options. She was always a great listener, never seemed rushed and even took me into her personal office to go over various options with me in more detail on more than one occasion. I cannot say enough good things about her. Just wish she delivered babies in Georgetown as I don't really care for Sibley Hospital in general.

Dr. Kleinerman is wonderful! I cannot say enough great things about her. I would recommend her to everyone. She is clear and direct which I appreciated during my pregnancy.

Newman is my regular doc -- and I'm a big fan of his. I'm a physician and had a very complicated first pregnancy/delivery myself. I could not care less about how long we spend in regular prenatal care appointments (really, there's no actual data that any of the time matters there, its the labs and vitals). What I care about is the moment(s) of truth -- complications that arise during pregnancy/delivery.

Recently I was at Sibley with preterm labor and Kleinerman took care of me. She was fantastic and I would be thrilled if she did my delivery.

I have seen Dr. Kleinerman 3 times this year through some pretty scary issues and am scheduled for a biopsy in another week. She is great. I instantly liked her and her bedside manner. She does have a wry sense of humor but so do I . What I really liked though is her thorough knowledge of her field and her ability and willingness to explain everything in detail and lehman's terms. I think this is why I am more comfortable about having the procedure. I would definitely recommend her.

Another rec for Dr. Kleinerman. She IS very kind, you just have to understand her style. Although I know some of my questions are silly, she jokes with me about my neuroses, calls me by nicknames and is just a nice presence overall. She can be a bit no-nonsense, but I don't see that as a negative. I second whoever commented on the office staff at the Fernwood office - they're great.

Dr. Kleinerman is the best gynecologist I have ever seen. I would never replace her with anybody else.

she also did our son's circ and was really terrific. I woud go to her and I also really liked Richard Newman (even though I had a different doc I interacted a lot with both of them during l/d).

I just started seeing her and I like her a ton. She obviously spends time reviewing patient charts before appts (or she has an incredible memory.) I like her no nonsense style and her sense of humor.

Dr. Deena Kleinerman has been my physician for many years and I swear by her. She is not only an excellent doctor who takes the time to educate you, but also is very personable.

I'm sure the OP who had her baby 3 years ago is glad to hear this.

This was me too, only last year. When we called Kleinerman at 4am we didn't have a great interaction but once we met her at the hospital she was AWESOME. I had a nearly 10-lb kid and she never once said anything about a c-section. She worked with me and I delivered a healthy LO. Cannot say enough good things about Newman and hers. You can't go wrong with either. Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

NP here.

Perhaps not, but this very thread helped me select Dr. Kleinerman as my new OB when I had to switch at the end of my first tri. There's nothing wrong with an update. I'd say you'd be complaining about a new thread asking about Dr. Kleinerman, saying the PP should have searched the archives before posting. If you have nothing constructive to add, don't bother typing.
