Hold on. Not everything is extra credit. Wilson teachers are grading normally. There had not been a consistent grade policy communicated and followed by teachers. |
| Only in DCPS does it make sense to end the school year on 5/29 and not tell teachers how to grade until 5/15! |
Wilson teachers are supposed to be grading as 100 or R for received. The received (R) works to exempt that assignment but not lower the grade. |
Yep. It’s infuriating. |
yes, every other surrounding district has announced their grading plans. They're all making 4th quarter a pass/incomplete (Mont Co, Fairfax, PG, Loudon, Alex, Arlington, Howard, Carroll). |
They can't make that decision. The DCPS grading guidelines are clear for distance learning during 3rd advisory. You may want to point that out to them. |
I agree it is annoying that we don't know, but I've got to say that compared to other local districts I think DCPS has done a much better job of focusing on getting distance learning started before worrying about all the details. It is far from perfect, but from the reports I hear from the 'burbs it seems like we're in much better shape in terms of the actual distance learning. --DCPS Teacher |
exactly! +1000 Regarding teachers at Wilson giving regular grades: are you sure? Teachers are supposed to be making all assignments since distance learning started as extra credit. Maybe you can't see it on the Aspen parent end but schools won't be able to submit grades unless they follow that guideline. |
+1 It is very clear at this point that teachers are only supposed to enter grades as extra credit at this point. Also DCPS came out with a fourth quarter grading plan- it's so confusing. |
Can you share the 4th quarter plan? I haven’t gotten it. -DCPS teacher |
From whom? We haven’t received anything. -Deal teacher |
I love you. |
You've quoted someone from a different thread. |
That’s not true. They haven’t released a plan even though the quarter starts Monday. |
I haven't gotten a plan either. |
