However, in searching Olivia's classes, she seems to have a good amount of classes with less than 100%/99% ratings, including some 97, 96, 95. Thoughts on why that might be? Is it just that the classes are really hard?

I love Olivia and I don’t find any other instructor as challenging as her. But I think she is very workout oriented and is not talking about life or making jokes likes other instructors. Perhaps some people Don’t like that?

I'm one of the Olivia posters and agree with this. I think she is generally no bs and no excuses, but less of the kind of life-affirming motivational stuff of other instructors. I really like Tunde as well. I like Robin's rides but I have to be in the mood for the schtick or specifically into the music for that ride. Emma is good too.

I also like that Olivia does the PZ training now. I always liked those rides with Matt (I'm not really into Denis or Christine).

I love Olivia but I don't take her classes all that regularly because they are so tough. I don't find many bike classes where the ratings are below 99%. I do a lot of the strength classes, and I find that there are quite a few with ratings below 99%. Whenever I do them, it is usually very obvious why the class was lower rated. I find Rebecca has a lot of lower rated strength and bootcamp classes and I think its because in those classes she often does a lot of odd moves that just feel awkward and aren't easy to master. Andy Speer also has some lower rated strength/bootcamp workouts, and I think its because he spends a lot of time on activation before starting the strength potions of the workouts.

I'm going to try an Olivia class today--- any recs on something super hard? I'm looking now at either a Hills and HIIT or a power zone.

Not Denis or Christine. People who like Robin/Alex/the "tough love" instructors will not like Denis or Christine, who treat you like grownups and don't yell at you. I've found there is little crossover between people who like Robin/Alex/Cody/Tunde/Kendall and people who like Denis/Matt/Christine.

I think the 45 min HIIT and Hills classes are usually good and hard. The power zone rides I like but it depends what type of PZ ride it is (i.e. what zones they are focusing on).

I don't know.. Denis is probably my favorite instructor (he's also easy on the eyes which helps!) and I love powerzone so I do mostly Denis and Matt classes. But when I'm not doing powerzone, I really like Robin and Ally, and depending on the music, Cody and Jess. Different types of rides for different moods, basically. The only one I really can't stand is Hannah Marie Corbin - I find her unbearable, which is a shame because I do like her music.

Toss Olivia in there. There is a pretty real power zone vs non-power zone bias. The conversation and focus in the classes, even the non power zone classes, is very different. It is rare for a PZ instructor to stop riding during a class or to be overly motivational. CDE is the exception to the rule outside her PZ classes. The PZ coaches tend to have a specific plan in all their classes.

Different strokes for different folks. I started riding more when I found Power Zone. I also do a good number of hills, tabata, hiit, and climbs. Love Jennifer Jacob, Hannah, CDE and Ben on those rides.

My favorite instructors, in order, are: Cody, Emma, Robin, Alex, Olivia.

I also don't like Hannah AT ALL, or Ally Love. I find Ally's whole "Boss" shtick to be super annoying.

45 minute HIIT and Hills from 2/19. That was probably a top 5 or 10 output class for me

I like some from both camps, but I find it really depends on my mood, and the music.

I'm pretty loyal to Alex and Cody. Robyn sometimes, but I don't like her Live DJ rides.

I just started doing Jess King classes and she is AMAZING! Super hard and funny. Almost a mix of Cody and Alex.

I love Christine, Emma, Ally, Cody, Denis, and starting to do more Tunde rides.

I'm also a Cody/Alex person. Alex when I want a serious ride and Cody when I want to be called a ho while listening to Britney.

They all suck except Alex so far.

Did I write this? No idea what pp is getting at. My favorite instructors are Denis, Emma, Tunde, Cody and Matt.

Denis is a great instructor but his GF is awful. Did anyone see that IG live they did tonight with the wine tasting guy? Painful to watch.
