| The phone at the Mclean Board of Directors Office is too hot to touch. |
1) no unless other information proves it wrong 2) no matter where they go, without having DA patch they're in a tough spot and they'll have difficulty competing with local clubs (Loudoun, McLean, Springfield, BRYC) 3) there's a lot ex-DA parents wishing they'll get ECNL and move to Springfield, but it's not going to happen because 4) without the DA or ECNL patch, they're going to lose players and they know it |
compete with SYC? is this a joke are you aware of the programs within 15-20 minutes of TSJ facility? and you think SYC is their competition? That is one of many and not even one near the top desired destination for a high end player No offense to SYC I'm just pointing out that TSJ if in Springfield will draw from several clubs and compete for players from several clubs, SYC being just one of the many |
I think at this point, the tryouts and everything will be in Springfield. It would be too embarrassing to hold tryouts in Loudoun. Nobody would show up. |
| Springfield is a stone's throw away from braddock road... |
Without the the league patch, TSJFCV is going to struggle. While I do hope TSJ facility a quick recovery from closing temporarily due to COVID, there's a lot of work to do to reopen those doors and keep them open. Without an ECNL patch and without a DA patch, moving is going to be difficult. |
The St James may decide to get out of youth soccer too. |
+1 SYC is a joke compared to STJ no offense. If STJ wanted to they can easily take over the area |
Wishful thinking to stay in DA, wishful thinking to get into ECNL, wishful thinking to move without a DA or ECNL patch and take over the area with solidified clubs. Gotcha. |
Without the DA logo FCV can’t compete with Springfield, it seems FCV parents live in a bubble. Clubs like Springfield and Alexandria have shown to produce top teams and players without any fancy logo. Springfield and alexandria boys teams in all age groups are top 1-4 in the state beating Ecnl teams constantly in events. Springfields girls teams like the 2010 and 2008 are the top 2-3 in the state and the rest compete At a high level too. Admit it fcv can move anywhere in the state but they can’t do anything without their fancy logo... |
+1 - teams do not need DA or ECNL to be competitive. SYC is a good example. |
Alexandria, FFC and many others! All you need is good and smart coaching and kids that love the game. Kids that practice for hours by themselves outside the club training. |
Anyone arguing that Alexandra, FFC or SYC are at the level of any ECNL or DA program are living in a fantasy world. One off good teams or one off victories in a tournament does not define the strength of a program. The gap between DA/ECNL and the rest is massive and so many parents are clueless about it. It is all about speed of play. Massive difference. |
FWIW, FCV 2010 Girls thrashed SYC at WAGS |
That's what people are saying. FCV is ex-DA and not ECNL, possibly in the middle of a move to a location that is currently temporarily closed. |
