DC - theft crime warning during Coronavirus

In my experience, even as a white woman, DC police DGAF.

This has been covered on so many forums and list serves over the past few years. DC, from the Attorney General down to the Beat Police Officer have turned automobile crime over to private insurance companies. They simply will not spend any money investigating or prosecuting these 'property' crimes.

And the lesson has been learned by our insurance companies. Look at your DC car insurance rates over the last five years.

Petty crime is up in Logan circle / Shaw area as well. We had a bike stolen from our condo’s secure garage, and I’ve been following on next door that others have had bikes and packages stolen via forced entry.

And the perps can wear masks so as not to be identified on video, and no one finds that odd anymore. It’s a criminals’ playground in ol’ DC now.
