I think God is teaching us a lesson

He has nothing to do with this.

Or anything else.

No cupcake. The virus is bad. Just ask anyone who has a relative who died from it.

Disagree entirely. Don't let your religion use this to convince you that we deserved a punishment, or that donations to their pockets will make everything better.

The virus is a very bad thing for humans who catch it, but is not evil on its own. It doesn't actively seek to harm people, it just "is."

Think in terms of poison ivy -- it doesn't try to infect people, but it does and can make us miserable. Luckily most of us know poison ivy when we see it and can avoid it.

Me too. Our global choices and way of life set this up. Hopefully we can learn from our own mistakes and transition to a more sustainable way of living.

We've had lots of all of those things for centuries -- and during the time the Bible was compiled, as well.

It's all part of nature. along with cherry blossoms, spring breezes, etc.

No. Not even close. There is no “Satan”.

ITA on the bolded.

I don't think we "deserve" this, but one reaps what one sows, ie, natural consequences.

Same guy who created Loki, who is the one really causing all the trouble.

Mother Earth is mad.

Disrupting clogged urban centers, killing off the excess elderly, forcing humans to curb carbon emissions, and demanding that we cut unnecessary consumerist, greedy ways. She will win. She always does.
