I actually understood what they meant. I’m not part of a medical profession, and I guess I have also been using the words interchangeably.

Even if you were old and had an underlying condition? I suspect the priest had examined his conscience and his life many times before this decision. And, as a priest, had recently been to confession and made a good act of contrition, so he believed he was going to heaven - a much better place than earth, to put it mildly.

Suzanne Hoylaerts, 90, Binkom, Belgium when hospitalized for COVID refused a ventiator, saying:

"I had a good life, keep this for the younger." She died two days later.

That's not rain in my eyes. Nobility is where you find it.

Straight to Valhalla Suzanne Hoylaerts.

I clicked the link and the story says that it’s not true that he sacrificed a respirator for somebody.

As usual, Catholic priests are much more in touch with the teachings of Jesus than evangelicals are. The Protestant types in this country are insane.

Pastor Robert Jeffress, a stalwart evangelical ally of Trump, held services at his First Baptist megachurch this past Sunday in accordance with Dallas-area limits on gatherings of more than 500 people but said in an interview that this week, he would hold online-only worship. The Florida church where Paula White, Trump’s personal pastor and a White House adviser on faith issues, invited congregants to in-person services this past Sunday will also shift to online-only status this week, according to a spokeswoman.
