Even if you were old and had an underlying condition?  I suspect the priest had examined his conscience and his life many times before this decision.  And, as a priest, had recently been to  confession and made a good act of contrition, so he  believed he was going to heaven - a much better place than earth, to put it mildly.[/quote]

As usual, Catholic priests are much more in touch with the teachings of Jesus than evangelicals are.  The Protestant types in this country are insane.
