The kids are not allowed to leave our yard. Period. If they get bored, they can complain during Complaint Time. If they complain outside of that time, they get one warning and then get sent to clean the bathroom floor with a toothbrush.
We are not leaving our property. We are using Amazon Prime and Instacart to have food and toiletries delivered. We do not take the packages into our house. We open boxes/bags next to the front door, wipe down each thing we take out, put as much packaging as we can back into the box/bag and put the box/bag into the big trash cans kept outside. DH and I take this very seriously, and are frustrated that others don't. |
Same except we don’t have a yard. We take DS to an open park and other people have been great about staying at a distance. |
I like that you have complaint time |
We haven't been to school or work since March 12. On March 13 I very briefly picked up my husband's rescue inhaler from CVS and early March 15 he ran an unavoidable short errand. We both took pretty extreme precautions when doing so. Otherwise nothing inside another building or within 6 feet of anyone else. My husband is over 50 and asthmatic so we are doing what we can. Will "have" to go grocery shopping within a week, since I only semi-stocked up on March 7, and not bought groceries since then. We won't starve if we don't, but we will be out of all fruits in any form and most vegetables by the end of this week, also out of milk, bread and eggs, etc.
We may hook up with another family that has been basically self-quarantining if we are all still well by the time it's been 14 days. I count us at essentially 10 days now. |
I've been home except for walks for the past week. No stores, no in person socializing. Tomorrow I need to walk to my office, check the mail, and do an atm deposit. If I can't place an online order, I might go to a store. That should be it for the next week. |
Only leaving the house for walks keeping 6 feet distance from others and 1 trip for groceries a week. I can not ask a delivery person to shop for me. I went at 6 am today. Store was almost empty. |
Grocery store, only one of us goes. Outdoor hikes. That is it.
My DH is a dr and I’m pretty sure we will all get it in the coming weeks (us, maybe not you) |
DH - work, grocery store
Me and kids - hikes and playground behind our house for walking, running, and scooters. There are a lot of other kids playing scooters and DS 5 gets closer than 6 feet sometimes. We still go to our occupational therapist and our behavioral therapist still comes to our home. These therapists still see other clients as well. |
We are talking walks every morning, keeping distance from others.
Minimizing grocery trips. We are doing restaurant pickup a couple times a week to support the local businesses. Things we are not doing: using public transportation, playgrounds, playdates. |
I’m not sure why it’s better to do delivery. You’re asking someone else to bear the risk and it might be that they’ve delivered many orders. I think it’s a way bigger risk personally. I’ve cancelled Whole Foods etc. for now. |
Fun for the delivery people! I hope they can bear your virus! You don’t understand how this works and you sound insane. |
It’s a herd issue. You go, you send someone else, same f”in thing dumb ass. |
Yes. The virus does live on surfaces for over 72 hours. Same on park benches. |
There are more surfaces and people in the grocery store. Delivery people fill the orders when the store is empty. Delivery is less contact with others. |
That’s insane. They’re not trying anywhere near as hard as you would. Don’t be dumb. It’s easier, sure. Cleaner? No. They’re also doing many other peoples shopping. Come on. This is backwards reasoning. |
