Told Tonight There are ZERO Tests Here. Fever Climbing Above 102

Good luck.

I will. We have been doing everything “right,” but community spread is here. Two of my family members have underlying conditions, including someone with type 1 diabetes. Yet we can’t even get a test.

And to the pp who asked what we would do differently, I don’t even have the space for you in my universe right now. You try having a family with underlying conditions that would very likely need significant respiratory help—something you would do everything in your power to get—and get back to me. I’m sorry, but go away.

OP again: To that same PP—more than that, let’s say it’s NOT coronavirus. That’s one less person clogging up the works treating a presumed case.

Do you know anyone who has it? Any idea where you got it?

Figure out a way to move to Canada before this started. (Actually, any country with decent health care infrastructure would do.) Too late now...

Unfortunately, there are many countries right now that are not testing but diagnosing by symptoms, or just treating symptoms without a diagnosis. This includes parts of Canada.

Good luck OP, stay as calm as you can.
Can you stay away from the family members as much as possible?

Getting tested isn’t going to help them. If you have family members - that live with you - with these conditions then you should be isolating in a room away from them. Or ask friends/family if they can stay somewhere else.

Getting tested doesn’t change how you should be responding here. You could very well have the flu and harm them just the same. Stop with the hysterics.

You don’t seem to understand how this works. Unless you have SOB and are moving toward pneumonia symptoms, there is no treatment for you. You would be sent home to self isolate. As you should be doing now. Are you really not aware of how patients are being handled? It’s a common topic in the news.

Trying my best of course, thank you. I don’t see how they wouldn’t be exposed though. We have been hanging out as a family for a week, doing what we are supposed to do—total social distancing.

I can’t believe the posters on here who are basically saying “It’s totally fine that in the USA, we cannot even test for the virus or track it.” Unbelievable.

There are no tests to give you. You quarantine yourself in a bedroom and if you have multiple bathrooms you use one and don't share. Someone brings you food, drink and medicine every few hours. If it gets bad, call 911 or go to the ER.

For someone who doesn’t “have space” for PP, you have a lot of time to post here, which is helping you exactly nil.

Good luck to you.

Op I’m sorry but what difference does it make? Act like you have it and stay away from vulnerable family members. Hospital can’t do anything for you at this stage anyway. If you have it you will likely recover. Just self- quarantine. I get that this is hard and you want to know if you have it. But we are all supposed to be social distancing anyway at this point.

Who are these people? I can't believe so many people are fine without knowing if right now, under ten thousand people have corona virus, 50,000 or 100,00, or 500,000 it is it now more than a million. We need to know so we know fatality rates, rate if complications, how fast it has spread, etc.

Why is this not the utmost priority? Why is it Singapord was able to develop and mass produce a rapid test 5 weeks ago and we don't have test kits.

Canada’s response is awful. They also don’t have enough tests and didn’t do jack until Sophie Trudeau was a confirmed positive.

I don’t want to be in Canada during a pandemic. I want to be in South Korea. Drive thru testing for all, immediate approval of labs at the ready with tests, 24 hour hotlines, prosecuting the church leaders responsible for the biggest outbreaks.

I'm a new poster, but I was about to post the same thing.

I'm the poster with the child on hospice for lung disease. I also have a very elderly and beloved family member with heart disease in my household. So, I absolutely understand being terrified, but I don't understand what you would do differently. For us, any condition with a fever will put my loved ones at risk, so we take every precaution we can, including isolating anyone with so much as a sniffle, and seeking medical care at the first symptom in the vulnerable family members.

Other than that, what would you do if you knew it was COVID?
