Maryland could spring forward permanently with Daylight Saving Time bill

Hogan is such a control freak he has to be in charge of everything, right down to when the sun sets.

F'ing ridiculous

The citation is the article that was posted. I guess you had time to make a stupid comment but not time enough to read?

“We have a whole host of reasons on why we do this daylight savings, but they all seem antiquated in theories,” said Del. Brian Crosby, D-St. Mary’s, sponsor of House Bill 1610. “When you start breaking down the data of why to not do it, that far outweighs why we do do it.” https://wtop.com/maryland/2020/03/maryland-could-spring-forward-permanently-with-daylight-saving-time-bill/

I agree. We're too interconnected. Half of my coworkers live in MD and work in VA.

We’re too far west in the Eastern time zone for this to realistically work. Winter mornings would be brutal.

While not perfect, the current setup (EST/EDT) makes the most sense.

At the very least, the whole Northeast Megalopolis would have to agree to switch. The thought of Boston, Hartford, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC not sharing a uniform time is ludicrous.

I would love to stay on daylights savings or just move 30 minutes. I grew up in the western part of the time zone and it gets dark so early here, even in the summer.

Massachusetts is considering a similar bill.

There's this thing called state sovereignty. MD governance isn't dependent on DC or Va.

We could be leaders! If no one wants to go first then no one ever goes and we are stuck with a stupid system.
