1. DCB
2. Stokes Spanish
3. Stokes French
4. ITS
5. Lee
6. MV8

... so basically we'll be back at our IB, lol.

Basically same, for PK4. At in-bounds and really like it, so we'd be happy to stay. I'm not even sure if we'd leave if we got a spot at one of these, honestly:

1. ITS
2. Stokes (Spanish)
3. Stokes (French)

I will feel so conflicted if we actually get an offer. And I keep wondering if we should have ranked MV8 at all. People seem happy there but I don’t know if it’s worth leaving our walkable IB school for.

6. LAMB South Dakota
7. Two Rivers 4th
8. Burroughs
9. Langdon CC (IB)
10. Bethune Brookland
11. Breakthrough Takoma
12. Friendship Woodridge

Careful... you get flamed around here if you admit to taking up precious Montessori spots if you don’t intend to keep your child in montessori for their entire schooling years

This is a GREAT list but I would put LAMB over Langdon because of the MS path. I take it you’re not on the Yu Ying train?

No Yu Ying because we can’t support Mandarin at home. Kingsbury isn’t convenient for us so LAMB would be a 3 yr option; Langdon/CHML works much better for us commute-wise.

Langdon is not accredited Montessori in 1st but is a 'Montessori-lite' program with programmatic feeder into CHML. So, we'd stick with Montessori if we ended up there (as long as the approach is working for our kid).

I think PP meant LAMB. Because LAMB doesn't fill spots after kindergarten (or at least they didn't used to), your child would be taking a spot that would remain empty for all of elementary. That means the family whose spot you "took" would miss out and not get the chance in later years.

I assume a good number of families at South Dakota now won't be making the trek to Kingsbury...

I'm sure there's a few, but as far as I've asked around, we're all making the move...
