i know 6 from Deal too and i'm sure they're not the same 6. several are siblings so they'll likely get in. The fight for non-sibling Deal spots will be crazy. |
| I see GDS is trying to step up their sports program. Good luck to all. |
| Seams like GDS is the it school. Is anyone applying for Sidwell? |
GDS, PK, No hooks and FA.
|
| Sidwell for K. No hook but student of color (biracial). |
|
Nobody is. That huge traffic jam on Wisconsin the afternoon of the Sidwell open house? Completely unrelated. |
| GDS for 9th. Hooked - athletic recruit. |
As a current parent, I definitely observe an uptick in sports-related news and investments from the school, which is a somewhat surprising but very welcome change. Also, excited about the consolidated campus! Lunch! Buses! Yay! But, I digress. Good luck to everyone. We are fortunate to live in a city with many excellent school options. |
| 9th grade applicant to Sidwell. Student athlete and minority coming from public. Real crap shoot. Only 30-40 slots available so it will be interesting to see what the demographics of those accepted are. |
| Starting to think only gds and sfs people post on dcum |
Except this particular thread is asking who is applying to what schools. So unless they are parents of current GDS or Sidwell students looking to transfer, then it is likely people from other schools posting. |
No, that’s an advantage. A hook is a condition or trait that puts the application in an entirely different bucket. URM, legacy, athletes (at certain schools). Big development cases. Like, really big, not merely full pay law partners. |
Correction: gds and sfs wannabes |
No. It's already been determined that SJC is the it school. |
