How much extra work/studying do you do with your kid in elementary school?

When my oldest was in K-1, I spent 30-40 minutes reading with them. By 2nd they were reading Harry Potter on their own so my help was no longer needed. I also often spent sometime doing math with them maybe 10-20 minutes at various times. It was sufficient to ensure they remained in the 99% on the MAP-M which is mostly about exposure, not aptitude as far as I can tell.

Looking back, none.

Student currently has excellent grades and college board scores. Encourage reading books they select about their interests. Definitely encourage fun online math. For the most part, just follow your kids' interests.
