| If you don't live in Takoma Park and subsequently it doesn't affect you then why exactly are you ranting and raving about this...explain to me please. |
Climate is a global issue, traffic congestion, criteria emissions, and housing shortages are a regional issue. Metro is a regional asset that should be leveraged. NIMBYs who unreasonably limit density close to metro, while trying to appear green by keeping the gas stations on the far side of the town line, earn the name "fauxgressive" |
Because no one wants annoying TP progs driving into their neighborhoods for gas causing even more traffic because they idiotically banned gas stations. They need to follow through with their plans and burn corn in their homes. Watching them flounder with the logistics will be pure entertainment to watch. TP is a cult neighborhood brainwashed on motherjones and Huffpo. |

It is odd that they think banning gas stations in TP would be climate friendly. If they want to push residents to not use fossil fuels then add on a big tax for owning a car that is not electric and/or give a tax credit for owning one that is electric. Restrict parking to electric vehicles. Get rid of parking.
Banning gas stations in a small neighborhood only sends the drivers to get gas to the other neighborhood creating more congestion and wasting fossil fuels. Banning gas stoves is a bit extreme but they could require that all new builds include solar. They could give a bigger tax credit on getting solar when you get a new roof. They could require remodels or renovations to include bringing a house up to a greener standard. Lots of things they could do that would make a difference. The ones this group seems to choose though just seem useless and inflammatory for no purpose. Its almost as TP residents want to pretend that they are super progressive but in reality do not want to actually be progressive. They avoid the basic progressive things and go for the extreme that they know will not pass. |

TP should ban all parking and only make spaces available for people with handicapped stickers and a limited number of vehicle charging stations where ONLY all electric vehicles can park for a limited time to charge.
TP should only allow electric ride share (Uber/Lyft) vehicles to pick up/drop off in TP. TP should require all business to only use and sell sustainable products. All commercial buildings should be required to have solar. TP should make water filling stations available everywhere. TP should require ALL home owners and flippers to ONLY use sustainable products AND there should be a heavy tax for removing anything that is not damaged beyond use. It is incredibly wasteful to knock down walls, rip out perfectly usable cabinets and vanities just because you want to be on trend, and other decor over environment choices that seem to be happening all the time in TP now. |
TP should also start to build more apartment building to replace single family house. High density is eco friendly. |
There are a lot of apartment buildings in TP. |
There are also a lot of places near Takoma Metro where Takoma Park does not allow apartment buildings. |
In the pooree sections. |
Gas stoves are horrible indoor air pollution creators.Research. You are breathing all this. It is like having a running car at home. |
Lol. Don't care. Openna friggin window if you're that concerned. |
Hey boomer - toilet paper is 1970. There's this new thing called a bidet. |
Bingo. The single family home is THE biggest waster of resources on the planet, short of air travel. They need to be razed. Every single one of them. |

And you sound dumb |
