My cat is obsessed with me

My cat is like this, too. She watches me as if I’m fascinating - brushing my teeth and she’s there, peeing, sleeping, cooking, working...she’s there.

My childhood Siamese was like that. I miss him

The same. I’m followed from room to room. She has to touch me. If I shift my body, she scooches closer. When I leave for work, she stands at the window until I drive away. At 4 pm, she goes back there and starts waiting. She has a treasure trove of items that smell like me that she has stolen.

I think it is really sweet. Sure, the constant rubbing and attention seeking can be a little annoying, but overall it is just adorable. My 3 year old kitty gives me “hair snuggles” multiple times a day where he burrows his front paws and head in my hair, purrs and rubs. He does it when I’m sleeping or jumps to the top of the couch to do it if I’m watching TV. Outside of the drool, it is really sweet. We are lucky to have such affectionate cats!

We had a half-Siamese until fairly recently, and my DH was his person. Great cat - social, friendly, basically like having a dog that didn't require walking. We miss the hell out of him. Even dog people liked him.

I call my spouse the Cat Whisperer. Cats love him and always have, even the weird, standoffish, skittish, nutjob cats that hate everyone. Of the cats we've had, only one of them was "my" cat, and he was perfectly happy with my spouse, too.

I grew up with a Siamese. She was the best cat ever. She would crawl under the covers next to me at night and lay her little head on my pillow beside me.

My big Maine Coon was like this but I believe it wasn’t attraction to me, it was behavior ensuring that the cat knew where the person responsible for dispensing food was located at all times

Aww! My cat is like this with me. Also, he doesn’t stay on the step waiting the whole time, he hears you approaching and races to the step to greet you. It’s so sweet.

What a sweetheart. You are so lucky.

Anonymous wrote:As the title says..he’s obsessed with me! He will be 2 in April and my husband and I got him when he was 8 weeks old. He’s always been attached to me but over the last few months, he’s been obsessive! Every night, he NEEDS to be in our bed and cuddled up right next to me, touching me. If we lock him out, he will body slam the door over and over and over again until we let him in. Once in, he immediately needs to come on the bed and lay right next to me/against me and will bury his head into my arm and snore away all night.

All day long he is by my side. He will be deAd asleep and I will go into the kitchen to make lunch (I work from home) and he will immediately wake up and sit with me in the kitchen while I make lunch and then sit by me while I eat.

There are days that I leave to run errands and he will watch me leave by the front stairs and I’ll come home an hour or so later and he’s on the same step waiting!!

Is this normal?!? My husband actually jokes that he’s “unhealthily obsessed with me” but it’s kind of true!

Could you be pregnant? My husbands cat became super interested me after we conceived, before we even knew ourselves. Our theory was that my body temp went up a few degrees or something. She always wanted to be on me, and we were not particularly bonded.

OP here- haha we are actually currently trying to conceive baby #1. I’m currently in my “two week wait” so I’m not sure if I am or not but this has been going on for months now!

I’ve been super sick with a nasty cough for 2 days and he’s barely leaving my side. Lays right next to me in bed or on the couch!

Our dog is like that. DH actually got him, but we're now in year 8 of me being part of his household too, and he literally follows me everywhere. He loves DH, but is obsessed with me.

He has to be within 3 feet of me at all times. Sometimes when I'm in bed or something, he'll just stare at me from next to the bed.

It's so weird and sometimes annoying, but I know I'm going to miss him when he's gone.

OP here: so turns out I am pregnant!! Probably explains why he’s been EXTRA obsessed this week. Just found out on Tuesday!
