OP, what is your inbound? As a pp stated, Barnard, Powell, and Bruce Monroe (the closest DCPS ES to CMI) all have a better thing going on than CMI.

-signed a former CMI parent now with DCPS.

Thank you! Will look further in to these. Will likely add Bruce Monroe and Powell to the list in place of some other options

Are these worth listing based on past lottery years? Unless one of them is your in boundary

Zero percent chance. The way things are going you'll be lucky to get Langley OOB.

What about Burroughs?

I would also look at EL Haynes if you are looking at CMI. Really close by location and was impressed with the ES program.

+1 for Burroughs as a good safety--solid early childhood program and probably pretty convenient if you're already headed to Brookland for daycare.

Langdon is also my IB and my kid attends Bunker Hill because my baby's daycare is near Brookland. Go on Google maps around 8 AM midweek and get the directions and estimated time of arrival for any school you are considering to get a realistic view of your commute. At this point, a short commute is a life saver, especially when your toddler is melting down just as you are about to walk out the door.
