Counterpoint: There is a nasty thread about Michelle Obama's clothes. I think it's up to 30 pages now.

What’s the title of that thread?

Locked.

It's not locked - it's just not very active, despite the valiant attempts of a few committed posters. Sorry your aggrieved narrative keeps failing, I guess?

Roughly the same as the current Trump women thread. However, this board seems to tolerate misogyny if directed at the "right" women.

I'm afraid you're thinking that our clothing preferences should align with our political preferences. Well, they don't.

I lean left, admire the Obamas, but much prefer Ivanka's and Melania's dress style ("I don't care" jacket excepted!) to Michelle's style. This is because both Trumps have a more traditional, slim, figure, which is always easier to dress, and always looks more elegant. Michelle's figure is more muscular and she made stylistic choices that really did not flatter it.

What do you mean "tolerate"? You can go post in the Michelle Obama thread, which exists and is not locked, and is full of people trying to get us to say Michelle looks so terrible because she is wearing bold clothes in bright colors while daring to have gained some weight post WH. There's nearly 30 pages of people joining in to say they don't like her in bright clothes, but also didn't like her in her WH clothes.

I am the poster (or one of them) who reports off topic political posts in this thread. I like seeing the fashion pictures of the Trumps because despite the personal opinions of many, I like a lot of their outfits and enjoy seeing what they wear (even if it is ugly sometimes). I am not going to ignore an entire thread simply because you and I have different political ideals, and you don’t have the right to let politics infiltrate and ruin anyone else’s enjoyment of a thread that is on a very specific issue: fashion.

Fashion houses choose tall, impossibly thin models to walk their runways and showcase their design. Are they horrible?
