was anyone actually there? Alexandria parents were making racist comments during the game just because Hyper was rough. Before you talk about parenting look in a mirror. Mad because some poor kids from Langley park were winning a game against Alexandria and it took a referee being biased to win you the game last week showed how a game truly is. |

The poster above said they were actually there. I have no dog in this fight (no ties to either team), but if what you say is true, than the coach of the Hyper team should have pulled his team from the game rather than subjecting kids to racist comments. That's what a real adult does. They don't shove a referee and get kicked out of a game. What example does that set for 12 year old boys? If you're the parent of one of those kids, you should really get your priorities straight. |

I was on the adjacent court and did not hear any such comments being made. I would find that very surprising, given that most Alexandria teams we have played have been fairly diverse. |

I was on the court right next to it for the girls 04 game. This whole racist thing just did not happen. Did you take a look at the Alexandria team that was on the court? The previous poster said diverse, i'll say. Nearly the entire team was hispanic. So what this hyper parent is saying is a bunch of hispanic alexandria parents were racist to other hispanic kids? is that what youlll have us believe. come on man, get over it. Your coach who I happen to know and like lost his mind. Cops had to show up it was so bad. He then threw a fit and pulled his kids off the court because he didnt like the Refs calling fouls.

I was also there, this happened on court 3, I was next to it watching the U16 girls play on court 4 (was ASA girls v St. James girls). I was with ASA families to watch the daughter of a friend who plays for ASA, I am not a parent of a kid on either team. I heard some yelling and screaming from the crowd, but nothing along racial lines. I heard the Hyper coach say F you and F this. I saw Hyper kids also storm the court (not many). The DC Hyper coach got on the court and was nose to nose with the ref, and then he pushed the ref. Will Hanna from ASA runs over to get between him as well as 2 other men (I don't know who they were). the DD Hyper guy had to be separated from the ref. Then the coach tells the team to get their stuff and the entire team walks off and out of the building and people start clapping.
Was completely insane and happened very fast. A policewoman walks over 5 minutes later but she was too late. I find it shameful that anyone would accuse racial insults of any team. I never heard anyone say anything racial. But I did hear with my own two ears and see with my own two eyes what the DC hyper coach said and did. |

NP: I was there and saw it happen as well. The Hyper team was better and the Refs were terrible. Not an excuse for the coach to do what he did or the kids to act that way, but it happened AND they are better than Alexandria. Coach is a Brazilian guy that knows futsal... |

Ohhhh Marcus is Brazilian so by default he knows Futsal and his incredibly poor behavior should be overlooked. Oh I forgot DC Hyper is better than Alexandria.
Why do i get the sense this is a child that is posting this about DC Hyper. I know Marcus and have for years. I like him. His behavior that day and the behavior of his players was a stain on that club that he will not be able to soon forget. Its unfortunate because those boys were flipping off refs telling them to F off to their faces. Who taught them that is acceptable in sports? Parents? Coach? I'm guessing it was one or both. I'm sure your reply to this sensible statement will be DC Hyper is better than Alexandria. Personally I could care less who is better I have no vested interest in either. |
