Why is this a difficult question? If she liked and did well in precalc, she takes BC.

Because I have been told that BC is really tough. So, trying to get a handle on whether it’s for math genius types or those who ace precalc.

What do you mean by "math genius" BC Calc is just a faster version of AB Calc. BC is offered in most if not all high schools in this area. It's not a math genius class, whatever that means. If she gets A in honors precalc and enjoyed it and wants to learn more, she should definitely take BC. If she doesn't or didn't get good enough grade, take AB.

To add to PP, she's only halfway through 9th grade. Her/your decision can definitely change in 1.5 years.
