This is not true. As with every car manufacturer, there are some lemon models, but Honda (and Acura) is generally very reliable, and right beside Toyota (and Lexus).

Not according to consumer reports. Acura and Honda are mediocre across the board in recent years.

We have a 2012 and have had zero issues to date. Except for the time my kid puked in it.

FWIW, this website lists the Honda Odyssey as the most unreliable car of 2018.

OP do you have the 9 speed transmission?

I wish we had theb7 seat Prius and CRV in the states.

Odyssey is too big for Honda to scale engines and make efficient, hence wonky tranny

That's so interesting.

We have had several minivans, including Hondas Odyseys, with no problems. DH's 2004 was totaled in an accident a few years back with almost 300,000 miles on it and few problems.

We have another other with high miles and have not encountered any issues.

2005 with 120,000 and zero problems.

2013 with 105K miles, have never put a cent into it besides regular maintenance.

The Acura MDX is actually supposed to fair poorly per consumer reports. Same with the pilot. Everyone just thinks they are great, so they blindly buy them.

Link please? Are you talking about car reliability or safety test?

My 2019 Odyssey has just been a dream. Love everything about it. Not one thing has gone wrong. But it's only two years old...

NP here. I had a 2011 Odyssey that gave us nothing but problems. It was a redesign year and they messed up big time. It started with little things, like the windshield wiper motor burning out within 200 miles of purchase, and then got progressively worse. The automatic doors would just bounce open when you shut them. Finally the electrical system fried the radio. Honda would not help because the car was 4 years old at that point. We had to replace motherboard in the radio/sound system and then I traded that thing in for a Sienna. I'll never go back.

First year model of redesigned year should be avoided. New cars have a lot of bugs
