Had a Corolla 2002 that just refused to die..finally donated it. Also, still own a 2004 Sienna...best vehicle we ever purchased to date. We used to be a early adopter Honda family going way way back to 1978 Civic, Accord, Prelude...but then switched over to Toyota.... |
| We have a 2014. No problems whatsoever. We maintain it very well, though. |
OP here, ours has been maintained very well, too. |
| NP. I have a 2019 Odyssey. I bought it because I was replacing my 2003 Toyota sienna. I went with Honda because the interior felt very different and more comfortable than the Sienna. I regret replacing my Toyota. My Honda drives very differently. It drives more like a truck whereas my Toyota drove more like a car. Also my back hatch has a very loud creaky noise. I brought it back to the dealership a couple of times and they can’t seem to be able to resolve the issue. I told my husband that whenever we get another car, we will go back to Toyota. unfortunately, I like to drive my cars for at least 15 years before replacing. I hope I am able to last that long with this car. |
You got unlucky OP. Even good car makers make lemons time to time. |
|
For those with sparkplug issues, check this out. Honda extended the powertrain warranty to 8 years or 125K miles because of an issue.

I agree. I’m the one that has purchased a 2019 Odyssey. We have always maintained our cars. Which is why we usually keep them for a minimum of 15 years. |
My 15-year-old Honda (not an Odyssey) that requires near zero maintenance disagrees. I've paid for one new set of tires and have the oil changed regularly, but that's it. I guess all those older-model Hondas I walk by at the Metro every day were just towed there for show, too. Outside one person who got a lemon and the awful airbag recalls that are not limited to Honda, I know few people who aren't happy with theirs, many of whom are over 100K miles on the vehicle or are trading them in for upgraded safety features, not because the car died. I do think Honda's reliability has declined from its heyday, but I'll still take them over nearly any of the American manufacturers, particularly Chevy and Jeep. |
| Our Odyssey is 14 yrs old with about 120k miles. Regular maintenance and no major issues. Hoping it makes it another 3 or 4 years. Used to leak but we had that fixed for about $180. |
| Another recall for Honda, ugh. Faulty wiring in Odyssey can be fire risk. Recent model years. |
| The only car that I never had any issues with was my Honda Fit years ago. I just bought a CRV and I'm hoping this car lasts forever. |
Sure that was true in 80s and 90s when you were young. Their quality went downhill, especially Honda’s. I am switiching to Hyundai and Kia. Warranty is better than the reputation. |
That was made in Japan. |
+1 Honda used to be good, now it is crap. |
| The Honda Odyssey is there for people who think the most expensive car is the best and want to spend $15k more for "less" depreciation. |
