It’s quite blue. Whether that will translate into the one thing that makes the moderate nova business community quake during their golf outings — right to work repeal — is yo be determined. |
Businesses don’t care if the local prosecutor declines to prosecute pot cases. They care about taxes, housing, and schools. |
And labor laws, of course. |
Businesses care about whether the overall quality of life remains good. A prosecutor plays a big part in that. We’ll see. |
A 2-seat Senate majority and 5-seat House majority is not “quite blue,” especially since both chambers have their share of moderate Democrats. |
| Seattle and SF area are as left as they come, but businesses still get what they need. So even if that happens in n. Virginia —and it probably will, but it’ll take three more election cycles — it won’t matter much. Businesses of this sort will always want to be sucking off of and up to the fed govt. Proximity matters. |
If that’s what you need to tell yourself to feel secure, go ahead. |
This is what I find concerning. There’s enough growth happening in MD to make people think everything is fine, when in reality it’s not. |
Lol. Looks like someone is factose-intolerant. |
No it doesn't. Stop perpetuating this myth. |
Gov. Northam and Sen. Richard “Dick” Saslaw do not appear to be in favor of right to work repeal. But Saslaw barely survived being primaried by a progressive opponent, and Northam is going to be replaced by a much more left leaning governor. So nothing is certain. |

They are comparing Northern Virginia with all of Maryland. As well as comparing all of Northern Virginia with MD suburbs.
However, in MoCo Elrich needs to stop talking about improving the economy and start doing. |
Arlington is growing faster than it can handle and it’s becoming unbearable. Plus, the schools are in trouble. |
"One Fairfax" Of course I understand the DCUM version of the MCPS initiative is not reality so Fairfax might not be either... |
What does that mean? Why would moderate growth not be “fine”? It’s certainly fine with me. I commute to DC and don’t need there to be more jobs in my backyard. |
