It matters to you and nobody else.

Enjoy it but it doesn't mean what you hope it means.

You think like a loser. Which is likely what you are. Success is meeting your goals regardless of what others think.

And if your kids team doesn’t win State Cup is he/she a loser? Will anyone care? No, because again, it doesn’t mean what you hope it means. Enjoy it but don’t put any stock in it either.

You’re still a loser.

My oldest is now all grown up and married, but back when she was playing state cups were everything. Making it to ODP regionals was so important to college recruiting. I can remember back when ODP and Super Y used to matter as well. Then ECNL came along like a hammer to the whole system.

Sorry that State Cup is marginalized now but that’s just how it is now. Enjoy it, good luck to your team but it’s just another tournament.

Sorry. If your kid’s team wins State Cup there will be a victory parade thrown downtown.

Doesn't the state cup winner still compete regionally? And then if it wins, nationally? It used to be that winning the state cup was part of the pathway to becoming a national league team. That actually is something. Extra competitions and such. And the Raleigh tournament used to have a special bracket just for those teams.

Yes, and quite a showcase that is without ECNL or DA representation. State Cup has turned into Presidents Cup.

A national league team is stronger than you understand. I'm not talking state cup. Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. Cheers!

Also, the National Championship doesn't start till U14. So once again, winning State Cup at U12 doesn't mean what you hope it means.

Winning Nationals after top teams have been skimmed of their best players for ECNL and DA are also not what they once were.

While winning Nationals does mean that the particular team is good it is still relative against very watered down competition.

What is your deal with parades? If a team can make it to national league status, they are a strong team. There are events that they qualify for that the average team, even the state cup winners, can't play in and couldn't compete in anyways. No one denies the state cup isn't want it used to be. The DA has changed everything in that sense, and that's why ODP is a joke now. But if you were even a tiny bit objective, if a team makes it all the way, then winning the state cup got them more than "just another tournament" .
