You have to choose what is best for your family and your child. That said, we saved our money for private in the later grades and did not regret sending our kids to a very good public elementary school. Love the neighborhood thing and they were not behind when they switched to an excellent private school for middle school.

Best value is Cathholic school. find one with a solid curriculum and affordable tuition. There are some great options if you consider the whole metro area. Look for schools that offer latin, classical studies, poetry, science, and classical literature.
