Oh hey! Knew it was you! |
| We need some Dixie Chicks and Martina McBride back. Those were strong women in the industry. |
Dixie Chicks? HAHAHA |
|
She is 30 and a multimillionaire. Why the hell can’t she sit down and negotiate a deal like a professional? She is not a victim.
This whining at an award show is so tiresome and inappropriate. I think she’s really hurting herself. |
Well, your post is pretty ironic considering the Dixie Chicks were effectively run out of the industry for daring to have political views. Do you think the program directors, etc. And the people that called them things like Dixie Sluts on air, were women? |
This is exactly how I feel. She gives lip service to her privilege and power without really understanding how much she has gained from it. |
This. Taylor Swift is stupid to keep doing this. People get very annoyed when millionaires complain. Just sit down and make a deal to buy back your catalog or shut the hell up. |
|
This chick just irks me all over. Not a fan.
BUT that doesn't make her wrong. She has more voice and standing than most and if she is using it try and help others I won't knock her for that. |
| She's a smart and talented person but it sounds as though she had no idea that her music could be sold without her consent. I'd like to know who was representing HER in that business deal. I assume she had her own lawyers review the contract before she signed it. |
| Also, if there are powerful entities purposefully fooling entertainers into signing documents that are not in their best interests - that should be exposed. Good for Taylor for sharing her story. |
| Private Equity firms are out of control and need to be regulated and broken up. |
I don't understand what these things are. |
Her father, her manager made a bad business deal and that’s why she doesn’t own the rights to her music. It’s not because she’s a woman, it’s because she’s uneducated and didn’t understand what was going on. She should have stayed in school. Sick of listening to her whine. Grow up Tay Tay. |
This is sad. It sounds as though she and her dad were hoodwinked into agreeing to something that they did not understand. How would signing her right away to her own music have ever been beneficial to her? Why would any artist agree to that? It's not o.k. to trick people like that. |
|
Make no mistake: TAYLOR SWIFT CAN BUY BACK HER OLD CATALOG ANY TIME SHE WANTS. She won’t even meet with Braun and her old label.
I have no clue why she keeps whining victim. The music industry will not change - the labels take chances on new artists they lose their investment on the vast majority. |
