This.

Disagree with this. My dad got me a hoodie when I was 13 (skater girl here). I wore it all the time and still wear it to this day! Although I'm slobbing around at home not shredding anymore.

That’s great, but an exception. Also it was your dad, who apparently knew your taste, not an aunt asking what 14yos like on an anonymous forum.

Aren’t you pleasant.

Birkenstock Arizona. Vegan leather if she's vegan. Otherwise nubuck should be fine. If she hates them, they can be house slippers

A gift card is safest. But Vans are super-popular, and sometimes Adidas.

Get her a pair of Golden Goose sneaks. The superstar ones are pretty popular

Their sizes come in “one size” which is basically small (yes it’s wrong) so better for petite. They sell it at pac sun.

Definitely Nike Air Force Ones and Fila. They are chunky, but everyone is wearing them.

No. No 14 yr old wears Golden Goose, expensive sneakers for middle aged frumpy moms trying too hard.

They are too heavy and too constraining and the kid wears
them way too long a day to be healthy for them.

There is a reason why those are military and prison style
boots. And there is a reason why those people always have
a foot problems.

Since when is Dr. M soles hard? Have you ever worn them? They are known for the bounce.

I see a lot of teens wearing Blundstone boots.

I teach at Georgetown and it's what most of the girls wear.

Adidas is a better choice than Nikes.

Air Force Ones are very cool with the kids.

My 17 yo would not wear Birkenstocks or Dr. Martens. She wears Vans or Sanuks. Which is all to say that footwear is very style-particular.
