Dakota Johnson seems ... insufferable

No I think Ellen was being the weird one.

Publicly scolding her for not inviting her to a party? First of all, that's just weird and really rude. Trying to disguise it as a joke doesn't make it not rude or weird.

And second, what was Dakota supposed to say to that, that wouldn't be awkward??

I'm pretty sure that the guest is given a heads up as to what they'll be talking about before they even go on stage. They needed to talk about something they had in common and could carry on a conversation about and the bday party was the hot ticket.

Of course this stuff is staged. I'm not saying they walk into those interviews with a script in hand but they know what they'll be discussing in advance. This whole thing is a total nonissue, move along.

Ellen has a pretty bad reputation the industry.

Ellen is the creepiest passive aggressive boomer. She seriously grosses me out. How does nobody see her for the evil mean-spirited creep that she is?

yes yes yes this poster is correct. ellen is a sneaky selfabsorbed control freak, the worst sort of manipulative fake nice/fake funny. i watched this interview and thought dakota was fine; ellen sucked.

If that were true wouldn't Dakota have thought up a better response then "that's not true Ellen"?

Exactly what I was thinking. It was definitely staged. Dakota was probably given a heads-up - “Hey, we’re going to talk about the bday party invite and I’ll get faux mad at you, etc”. It just turned out a little awkward and forced. Not a big deal.

Don’t agree at all. Dakota looked legit annoyed that Ellen would lie.

She should have said sorry boomer, you’re twice my age, we didn’t want any creepy passive aggressive old people there killing the vibe.

Yup...she should have said "sorry boomer" and I'm a boomer. Ellen is obnoxious trying to act like she is funny when she is just rude/gay/ and passive aggressive.

It's called acting y'all. Dakota can act in circles around Ellen

Lol, they were both just trying to make an otherwise boring conversation funny and interesting. Yes, they were both acting! Surprise! That's what they do in Hollywood!

Ellen walked into it, Dakota handled it well, it ended up being funny, then Dakota was really funny and her response to her co-stars arrest was amazing and compassionate and now I can't wait to see Honey Boy.

Funny how people look for bad where there is none!

I like Dakota! Chris Martin definitely upgraded after Gwyneth.

Um... I think Ellen is a mega-b and absolutely obnoxious, but what does this have to do with her being gay? WTF PP. Shame on you.

+1
LOL at the people who are actually taking any of that conversation seriously. It was all staged.

I think she is adorable.
