What is lovely when kids are little just adds a whole other layer of stress and drama to your home when they are tweens and teens. I live in the bay area and it was common for kids to share a room (even boy/girl siblings) but by the end of elementary almost everyone had either added on to their home or moved to something with another bedroom.
If you have another bedroom, OP, don't invest in expensive furniture that is not flexible if you do have to let one of your girls move in there. We loved having our kids share a room when they were younger but by the time the oldest was in 7th grade, it was HARD. |
