Her hourly rate. Sleeping child does not mean that she is not on duty. If she is your nanny then you pay OT for all hours over 40. If you can't afford this then you stay home or get your mother to fly in. |
Hourly rate until 10pm, then $100 10-6 (if kids would sleep straight through), hourly rate until 5. For me with a babysitting family (not my regular job), it’s $20/hour for 2-3 kids, $25 if either has sn. 5 hours evening plus 11 hours next day is 16 hours and $320, $420 with the overnight. For a family with sn, it’s $400 for 16 hours, $500 with overnight. |
Wow! I should have been a weekend nanny! |
These answers are crazy. Our nanny will do an overnight for us for $75 flat rate (and that wasn't what we offered, it was what she told us her set rate was). And we're not that far in the burbs, just outside the Beltway in VA. |
+1 Yes, that's how it works! Yes, it's expensive! (I couldn't afford it!) |
This is what we do with our nanny. |
My BROTHER gives me $100 when I stay overnight with my niece and nephew. |
You are crazy. $8.33/hr. You are still on duty whether kids are sleeping or not. |
Your brother is cheap. |
$75 for the overnight period as an addition to normal hourly rate is fine. If some of those hours fall into the guaranteed weekly pay, great! We’re talking about a period that the nanny does not normally work. Also, please be aware that if you don’t pay at least minimum wage for each hour, the nanny CAN agile for back wages later with wage and labor board, and you will not only have to come up with it then, you can expect fines as well. |
My nanny sister charges her regular hourly rate (30$) no matter what the hours are. She does overnights about 2x per month. |
