I do, too. BJ is a pretty well known nickname. BJ Hunnicut from MASH never once made me think of blow job. |
|
No one is going to call him Brian Michael. Or Brianna Jane unless you do. And only then. They MIGHT someday shorten it to BM or BJ. But that is not going to happen unless you go in with the plan to call them by the initials. No one has ever called my kids VL or ML
And seeing their full name- no one will think hahah his initials are BMR. Haha BM It would be more likely to be commented on if the initials spell something. Go with your top choices. |
This made me laugh out loud! So something I would do too! |
|
Most people do either first last initials or first middle last initials. I’ve never seen first middle initials.
Pick your favorite names—you are over thinking this |
+1. |
| In some places Barbara Jean, with a nickname of “BJ” is very common. |
| I absolutely wouldn’t do it. We are always initialing stuff at work. I don’t know anyone’s middle names but i see initials all the time. My mom was a BJ and hated it. The jokes never stop. |
| I know a young man who goes by BJ and those aren’t even his initials. His name is like Mark Butler and he goes by BJ. So there is one person who clearly thinks it’s ok. |
| BM means bowel movement. Keep trying. |
good move |
|
Nonissue. No one has ever called me by or commented on my first initial and middle initial.
You are overthinking this. |
Agree. I know it seems like middle names are such a big deal when you are picking names but 6 years later, I have to actually pause to think about my kids' middle names sometimes. |
Or do you mean smooth move?
|
+2 OP your kid will have the initals BR. Don't agonize over the "first middle initials" because that is not a thing. |
| I hated having BM as my initials. Hated it. |
