When to schedule induction

Ugh as soon as freaking possible. I'm 37 and 2 and will not stay pregnant a single day more than I absolutely have to.

I had mine scheduled at 39w for a medical condition and once things got going, it was super easy as in 2 cm to baby in 3 hours with maybe 10 min pushing? I hardly had any swelling at all downstairs compared to my first who waited till 40.5 weeks, was bigger and I pushed almost 2 hours to get out. I researched that the C-section rate for induction at 39w is still very low (3-7% depending on the study) if you've had a prior vaginal birth.

If you don’t have any adverse medical condition, schedule the induction for 41.5 weeks. Allow your body to go into labor naturally. My baby was 10 days late, went into labor naturally, but would have had an induction if it got to 12 days late.

Unless a mommy is high risk, why would someone induce before 40 weeks? The baby and your body are not ready, until labor starts naturally.

You will have to go in to your OB’s office periodically after 40 weeks so that your baby and amniotic sac can be checked.
