| MDX in a heartbeat. The reliability of Honda/Acura is much better than VW/Audi, and I think the MDX is more comfortable, as well. |
Sorry, didn't mean to hurt the Q5's feelings... |
| I priced these out and came up with 9-12k difference in price depending on the trim. I was not willing to spend that much more for the Q7. I also believe each car sends a very different message, not that it is the reason to choose a vehicle but something to be aware of. I chose the MDX and love it. Hands down nicest car I have ever owned. Everything works, smooth yet responsive ride, and still some fun. The only thing I do not like is the audio user interface, but they have updated it in more recent model years. |
| Audi is a way superior car, but a lot more money to buy and maintain |
| MDX is still using that terrible ZRF 9 speed transmission. Really hoping they ditch it for the full remodel coming next year. |
| I'd not touch Europian cars |
HAHAHA dads a mechanic over 50 years a Porsche M again HAHAHA for the pice. Agreed the Q5 is not the same as the Porsche. The seats in the Q5 are amazing. Audi's definitely have reliability issues and parts cost a ton as do the Porsche. Neither are something to keep more than three years unless want to dump a ton of money into them. Acura used to be a better way to go. Lexus is much better for a long term car. Does any of this really matter. NO! Personal choice..... |

If there's even a remote chance you'll keep it past warranty, get the Honda.
Audi is finely polished, well-marketed junk. And it will nickel and dime you to death. |
| The cars are not in the same class - if want a luxury suv Audi, if not mdx. |
Your average Ford is as nice as a Audi these days. 10 years ago, sure, Audi was luxury. Now. Audi is just an expensive badge and nothing more. |
HAHAHAHAHA or a gussied up VW...... Then again, I'm biased since I've known something about cars, for the past couple decades. |

I drive a 2015 Q7. 60,000 miles on it.
It is the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned, even better then the VW Jetta i owned 15 years ago. I purchased the audi after my Mercedes GL 450. I absolutely loved that car. Everything about it, except it was the most unreliable vehicle i ever owned. The audi has only been in the shop once outside of the scheduled maintenance, for cleaning an engine port (covered by warranty). Knock on wood but it's been really good! I don't love it but it works. |
I wanted the new explorer but after driving everything out there I settled on the q7. An ST or platinum trim explorer is almost 60k; and the interior sucks! For 8k more you can get the q7. The cars are close in price now, that is true - and the explorer is better looking on the outside. I would go with a 2020 highlander- best of both worlds. |
I saw an S5 driving like Mario Andretti on 66 today. It was truly embarrassing how weak the engine sounded when that dude thought he was being such a stud. I would go with the MDX. |
I certainly hope your 2015 car hasn’t spent much time in the shop. But this isn’t an Audi feature. Even my Honda is like this, except no repairs at all, just routine maintenance! |
