p.s. amazingly enough, the breastfeeding part felt natural (not in terms of getting the latch and all that right), but that the process itself of another human eating eating of me felt like the most normal thing (the fact that it provides relief to the engorged mom probably plays in role in that too), it was a 'ahhhh feel so relieved now' as the baby starts feeding.

OP, I fell stupid-in-love with my son at 5 weeks old. Which means I was not in love with him while pregnant, and not when he was a newborn. I felt a great (and very willing) responsibility for caring for him, for making him comfortable and happy, and from that the love grew.

The vast range of attachment and love for your newborn is completely normal. So please don't be terrified. It will all work out. And in the off chance you actually do develop PPD, it sounds like you will be attuned to it, and will get help as needed. You sound like a great mom already.
