| McLean and BRYC teams have the opposite approach. Coach at practice and substitute coaches for games. Coaches all "coaching" too many teams. |
| LOL! Must be an FCV parent. With their travel teams, not only do you never know who's going to be coaching but you never know who's going to show up to play, which field they're going to be playing on or what time the game or practice will actually start! |
We are at McLean, and this is not the case. Our coach is at practice and at games. Though coaches can have multiple teams, so when game conflicts arise, we have a sub game coach (usually another professional coach). |
FCV? |
That is exactly what I was saying. McLean has their assigned coaches at practice and then 50% of the games have a substitute coach. Another "professional" McLean coach but not always one who knows the kids. |
| This is no way to run a team in my opinion. We all have different expectations and ideas of what we want for our kids through sports, but I want my kid to be in an environment where it's a team and kids are fighting and playing for each other including the coach. I want my kid to be on a team where the coach is a role model and mentor...not just "another voice". Again, we all have different visions, but I'd have my son off this team after a season...meaning I'd be leaving in about 3 weeks. That's just me though. |
