Think op is wondering whether a buying a cheaper car that is located far away is worth the drive.

No. Long highway drive is not recommended for a new car.

I feel like you shouldn’t buy a new car that can’t do a long highway drive.

Pp is talking about Break in period for a new car

I have never heard of anything like this. It sounds like a good idea if you are buying a car in 1913, but I would imagine it is not necessary for a new car in 2019.

Google “new car break in” period. Not new.

Keep it under 100mph and 4500 RPM. Should not be too difficult on the highway.

Uhm... that’s not it but whatever

I just bought a Toyota and was surprised to find that yes, there was a break-in period for the first 1000km (~600 miles). Not supposed to drive for extended periods at the same speed/RPM - so if you are doing a long highway drive, I would vary the RPMs.

I found better deals in the Stafford area than about any other for much further drives, depends on make of car though.
