| they can tell how many bpm there are because you can see it beat. it kinda does this little flash thing, and you can see it pump. the computer counts it for them |
| The doctor was able to detect/see a heartbeat at 5 weeks with us. |
| At 7 weeks we saw and heard our twin's heartbeats with a transvaginal U/S. |
| I am the OP. Had the sonogram today and measured 6 weeks 3 days. Also heard a strong, steady hearbeat at 120 beats per minute. I started crying like an idiot. |
| Congrats, OP. That is great news. |
Oh, that's wonderful, OP! Congrats! My first OB appt is this Tuesday (I'm just 6 weeks), and I'm praying for the same experience you had! It will make everything finally seem real! |

I had a sonogram at 7 weeks and the doctor could not detect a heartbeat. I spent a week going crazy, crying, worrying, etc... Then went back a week later and at 8 weeks there was a perfect, strong heartbeat. My DS is now 18 months old. I just tell you this so you don't freak out if you don't detect one early on - you might just have to wait another week or two. |
OP, that is wonderful!! We saw our DC's heart beat at 4 weeks. We cried also when we saw the little flashes of heart beat on the ultrasound monitor. Even though the embryo was barely visible, the heartbeat was going strong. |
