Gay Marriage Passes DC Council

BTW, does Mendelson's shepherding this through the Judiciary Committee cement his ratings in the gay community enough to shield him against Clark Ray?

Yes that will be an interesting race.
I don't know. Clark Ray would have to be quite a phenomenal guy for me to vote against Mendelson. Phil may be a picky researcher guy but he knows his stuff! I want to keep him in office!

And let this put to rest the wicked perception that all African-Americans are against gay marriage.

Or that Fenty can't do ANYTHING right.

You're right. I will give him that!

Finally! A lot of people can't see past why they dislike him. I think that is very generous of you to acknowledge that, as this is a very big deal.

PP here. I don't know why it would be generous of me to acknowledge that. It's just true! No generosity needed there.
But I still won't vote for him again after watching Michelle Rhee in action. But unless Vince Gray runs, I won't vote against him either. I just won't vote.

Yeah, I'm sure a Utah Republican knows what's best for DC. I believe he introduced legislation to stop the law that recognized gay marriages performed in other states. That didn't go anywhere and neither will his next attempt. He is just posturing.

Don't see too many nay-sayers here and I'm glad about that. We are starting to get back to what living in the USA and what constitutional freedom is all about. Anyone in doubt, please read Ain't Nobody's Business If You Do by Peter McWilliams-truly eye-opening in terms of consensual 'crimes' and the cost of adjuticating them in our justice system.

Not a nay-sayer. Just wanted to add, "Yeah!!!!!"

Yeah-sayer.

Good grief--doesn't this guy have anything better to do? Stop looking through people's windows, turd.

And Yay DC!! As a former longtime resident, I'm so proud of you and so happy that my gay friends who live there--and pay taxes there--will soon be able to exercise their civil rights. Here's hoping it's only the beginning.
