Telluride SX or Palisade Limited?

For $100 or so you can buy a 2-pack DVD player that attaches to the back of a seat. Each kid gets their own DVD!

I didn't think people still bought cars with built in DVDs when nowadays kids have their own devices and prefer to watch their own things. We have 3 kids none of whom will sit and watch the same show/movie because they are 7, 11 and 15. Everyone brings their own device and their headphones and everyone is happy. No need for DVD in the seats.

We can’t do tablets. See above in my post. I’m actually about to buy one more minivan this year before all car makers stop offering them. We love the ceiling mounted screen and use it on all trips.

You can strap in the iPad to the head rest or other solid mounts. The Palisade is really nice. I test drove it a few weeks ago. Get a few year old SUV if that is an issue with it built in. Some makers still do built ins but many stopped as no one is buying it. You can always custom order a car if the manufacture has it and you cannot find it on the lot.

SUVs do still make it - some models of the explorer have them in the head rest as an option. Same with the GMC Arcadia. Not sure where you are looking but go online and build one online, go to the dealer and have them custom order it.

Yeah, I know I can do all that. I'm just getting one more Odyssey where I can get the ceiling mounted screen (not headrest which I do not prefer), non special order, and for thousands less. By the time I'm done with it, my kids will be in college and I can buy whatever I want.

Just special order. Its not a big deal. You are not going to find one exactly what you want. Most people use tablets and it makes no sense to spend that as your high school kids can survive without a tv going when traveling. Special ordering can be cheaper as you get what you want and nothing extra. I just special ordered. It was cheaper than off the lot.

The Odyssey with the DVD is cheaper than the Palisade without. By $5k. I just shopped both of these cars and went with another Odyssey.

Our dealership didn't have them. Bought a 2019 Sorento for new driver child instead.

Ok what? I was responding to PP. I liked the Palisade a lot. It handled very nicely. But the dealer didn’t have any SEL’s or Limiteds on the lot, period. I’m not going to special order a trim level I’ve never seen in person. And it was $5k more than a comparably equipped van, so that’s what I did. Just sharing a data point.

But the Odyssey is a minivan. *vomit*

Palisade Limited wins on the inside. Telluride SX prestige package wins on the outside. What's more important to you, what's in the car or how you look driving it? Both are legit concerns.

You make it sound like it was unavailable. It wasn't. You just had to have it ordered. Most people looking at SUV's don't want a minivan. You probably overpaid as you didn't want to shop around and have patience.
