DH is 49 and wears briefs, or sometimes boxer briefs. They aren’t white though (he buys dark colors). I like it.
DS wears boxer briefs. |
In what way? Like upper class wears tighty whities and working class wears boxers? |
reverse. I’m a nanny and all the dad underwear I’ve seen has been boxers or boxer briefs. The grandpa (working class) underwear I’ve seen has been tighty whities. Could also be a generational thing, hard to say-though my dad always wore boxers and he’d be 80 now. Nannies know way too much. |
You obviously haven’t been with a fit guy with abs and a tan, and a monster package |
No but I'm sure you've been with one. |
| Dad wore boxers, DH and college age son’s wear tighty whities. |
| I feel like boxers are out. Most men wear boxer briefs. |
My limited research suggests it’s not a class thing. The pattern I have noticed is men who wear briefs also served in the military at some point. |
King Dong, is that you? |
| I am 32 and wear briefs or boxer briefs, whichever I am in the mood to wear. Underwear choice is out of comfort, not class nor is is a generational thing. |
| I'm 62 and wear tight whities..they keep the boys nice and snug during exercise |

My dad is 75 and wears tighty whities.
DH is 39 and wears boxers. DS is 8 and wears boxers briefs. |
| For many older men wear briefs came from being in the military (at least that is what my father told me). Boys tend to start off wearing what their dads wear. When I was growing up in the 80’s, I think it was true that boxers were favored with wealthier people and then a tend spread when the Preppy Handbook became a thing. Boxer briefs have not been around for that long, but they will win the underwear war. |
They're definitely "out" - I prefer boxers, and have a hard time finding them sometimes. Now, boxer briefs (which were almost exclusively worn by gay dudes when I younger) are practically the only thing on the shelf at department stores it seems. |
