Would you take chickenpox recoverer on plane?

I would go with what the doctor says.

If you decide to go...get a doctors note for the airplane just in case.

Why would you even follow up with the doctor, if you are prepared to ignore his or her advice and are willing to put a kid with CHICKENPOX on a plane full of people on DCUM's say-so?

What is wrong with you? If a DOCTOR says a kid has chickenpox and there is a risk of getting others sick, STAY OFF A PLANE, MORON.

Even if the doctor says he is good to go, I wouldn't take him.

If I were the bride I would be so pissed someone had taken a kid with chicken pox to my wedding. It's just rude. Besides all the people you might infect on the way.

Doctor thinks he won’t be contagious on Friday and will take him back to the doctor then to get a final ruling on if he’s contagious or not. That night we have a flight to Georgia planned for a wedding.

If the doctor says he doesn’t think he’s still contagious, would you let him fly? It will be 6 days after the bumps appeared.

Repeating the post because people are forgetting that the OP is taking the child to the Doctor to get the Doctor's ruling on if the child is contagious or not.

I would not take the child on the plane or to the wedding even if the Doctor said he was not contagious because I think that it would be an uncomfortable flight for your child. He could be itchy or just lethargic after fighting off an illness.

If the Doctor said he was not contagious and you decide to take him, I would make sure to have a note from the Doctor.

I am not sure that I would fly even if the Doctor said he wasn't contagious just in case he was. There will be people flying who might not be able to be vaccinated for a number of reasons and think that the risk of spreading the illness is greater on a plane.

If this is a close family member and you really want to go perhaps you should look at driving. I know it is a long drive and that you have paid for plane tickets but that would be safer for everyone at the airport and on the plane.

OP is not prepared to ignore the Doctor. The OP specifically said she was bringing the child to the Doctor to see if they child was still contagious on Friday. If the Doctor says that he is not contagious, should they fly.

Please look at the original post.

AutoCorrect sucks.

Let the kid stay home with the other parent Or a nanny. Never take a kid who just got over being ill or may still be ill on travel unless it’s an emergency

Ahh my friend's 6 month old just got chicken pox. He was covered in the bumps, particularly in his diaper area.

No, it's the other way around. OP is asking if she can fly if doctor says it's ok because kid is not contagious. However, DCUM thinks it went to med school and says it's not ok, regardless of what the actual doc thinks.

I thought it was better when you were suggesting the kid stay home with an animal.
