In a way I'm sorry to see UVA (and W&M) drop a couple of spots, since they may be future options, but one consolation prize is it may quiet that person who says "always 1 or 2 and ALWAYS ahead of Michigan".

Sorry your kid didn’t get in.

Didn’t apply. Not a VA resident. He got into one of the top 10 though.

Sure he did.

Exactly why I had a bit of a thrill when I saw the drop...plus there was something about being top 25. No more though!

UVA and W&M really dropped. Big change in just one year.

Meh. I wouldn't call UVA's drop to 28th from 25th as big. There are nine schools (counting ties) ranked between 25th and 29th. The overall score for the 25th ranked is 75 and for the 29th it's 72. Pretty negligible difference.

William and Mary on the other hand is now at 40th, a new low for them. Then there's Maryland, at 64th. Not THAT's the embarrassing ranking.

W&M is now behind schools like UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, and Florida. For undergraduate, I think it is much, much better than those schools, but maybe I'm just out of date.

I am sure William and Mary will try to shift to focus to its very good undergraduate teaching rank and talk about lack f resort
Races, blah, blah. But their overall rank decline is...embarrassing. They are typically around 31 to 34 (dropped last year). Anyone know what’s going on there? They seem stuck in a cycle of unpopularity.

What happened to U Chicago? It is the only one that dropped out of the 3rd place tie of last year.

At this rate, it will be eclipsed by American and Temple.

UVA’s is not what one hopes for, but no big deal. W&M’s, however, is a BIG problem.

Pretty petty of you then. Why do you care about a school your kid didn't even apply to?

Vermont and Miami of Ohio are dismally ranked Public Ivies.

UT-Austin and UW-Madison seem really undervalued. William and Mary is just an odd fit. Never thought I’d see the day Wake Forest overtook UVA. No serious person thinks Wake Forest is a better school than UVA. George Mason is still up and coming very very slowly.

I don’t. But I do like to see what the UVA braggers have to say about the drop. Just a grating group of folks who just might shut up for a change.

It’s a pretty insignificant drop. If you’re that invested in crowing about this ... what’s up with that? Were you hitting the refresh button every three seconds to check the ranking of a school you supposedly don’t care about? C’mon man.
