How do they pick field locations for games---and brackets?
Is it lottery? Looks like our team got the short end of the stick in terms of location and opponent while some of the Clubs seem to be set up in very easy brackets, home field advantage, etc.? |
I checked brackets and some Clubs have every single game (multiple different ages and genders) at a home field. That's a bit suspect. |
Should be via seed, higher ranked team gets home field advantage. |
Last years state cup winner should be seeded number 1, and would have gone field all the way through till the switch to a neutral site. And so one through the rest of the seeds. Not suspect at all. |
| as stated, highest seed hosts the game as the home team at their venue. That is until the Semi Finals which then take place at a neutral site (Fredericksburg). Nothing shady about this at all, typical format and it makes sense. If you dont like the seedings thats a different discussion all together but my experience javascript:void(0);is they are usually reasonable and allow for the highest seed teams to play the lowest and advance accordingly. |

On the boys side, the seeding looks reasonable. At all age levels, except U18, the 1 through 4 seeds made the quarterfinals.
The lowest seed (13) to get to any of the boys quarterfinals is Lee-Mount Vernon U17. Looks like LMV is a CCL team. They play another CCL team, Beach FC, which clobbered Braddock Road 7-0. |
