But with MC2 you can save 2 years of college and $$$$ , saved years can be used for Masters,MBA etc.. 2 years are valuable especially if you want to medical side.

I know anyone can edit wiki , in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montgomery_County_Public_Schools_(Maryland)#Academics they mentioned below

In May 2018, students from Northwest High School were the first in the district to graduate with a two-year degree in general engineering from Montgomery College as well as a high school diploma.[41] In May 2018, five Northwood High School students were the first MCPS students to complete the Middle College Program at their school, which allowed them to earn an associate degree from Montgomery College as well as a high school diploma.[42]

With MC2, you do still have to pay tuition and fees to MC. Which is certainly less than standard college tuition, but isn't nothing.

Why not just ask your kid?

The social contexts are very different. Poolesville is an intense cohort experience. MC2 can be isolating once the kids are spending more time at MC and away from Northwest.

I'm still confused. It's now Sept. 6. Where have you been this entire first week of school?

Could you link to a website or something that says this, please?

There is NO [b]link that I am aware of!

I think that there's no link to Northwest MC2 having lottery admissions for non-Northwest students because Northwest MC2 does not have lottery admissions for non-Northwest students.

These programs are apples and oranges. What does your kid want to do? If their goal is to attend a selective college I'd go for Poolesville magnet. MC is highschool 2.0. I'd only choose it if money is a factor.

OP my DD is a junior in one of the magnets. It's an incredible experience.

Why would going to Poolesville HS help you get into a selective college?

And no, Montgomery College is not High School 2.0. Do you know anybody who has attended Montgomery College?

Only the bottome 30% students select MC after HS. Magnets take top 15-20% students in MCPS.

94% of statistics are made-up by trolls on the Internet.

In Northwest, MC2 kids stay together for all four years; they are all put into the same core classes: math, science, AP government, and english. They won't necessarily be alone; they still attend events at the school.
