Do you ever recommend divorce in real life to friends / family?

A friend recently told me that her husband says he resents marrying her and that he doesn’t appreciate her. I asked if she’d considered counseling and she said they’d been in counseling for years and then I said “are you thinking about divorce?” And she said she’d never divorce (doesn’t believe in it).

My mom said some awful stuff about my dad, but I’m skeptical it’s true. I told her I’d help her with a divorce if that’s what she wanted and similarly she said she’d never divorce. I told her “if I said my husband was treating me that way, you’d worry about me every minute until I left him” and told her I’d support her if she ever changed her mind.

Yes to my sister being verbally abused and likely physically abused as well

To my best friend who constantly cheats on his wife. She is a miserable person and deserves to be cheated on. But why stay, just leave and go be happy
