| I told my DC that when you get older, things don't work as well as they used to (e.g., your hearing, your eyes, etc). And now Nanny's brain is not always working right. So, she might say somethings that seem odd. That is not something she can control, and of course, her love for us is the same. |
| NP here - what about a grandparent who has paranoid delusions about the other grandparent? We haven’t laid eyes yet since a cardiac event that caused a major stair step decline, but there seems to be a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on...threatened to hit caregivers but on the phone with my spouse is in some ways normal (except for the notion that “I’m on my deathbed” and saying final goodbyes every day). |
